How does a painting start? Bit by bit. Stage by stage, the image is built up layer upon layer, until it is complete…enough. No painting is ever REALLY 100% finished.
The name of this painting “35 at Heart” because of where the stenciled numbers from the background ended up showing through the heart. A joke between friends – I would say that I felt inside as if I was still 35 or 36 years old. So in the end it has meaning.
The painting on the bottom was photographed by a professional photographer at the Robert McGlaughlin Gallery, in Oshawa, Ontario
